Jackie Axelby
Jackie Axelby worked as a manager in the NHS for over 30 years in Yorkshire and Lancashire and for the last 13 years as a Chief Executive in the North East before she retired in 2003. She was Chief Executive of Northumberland Health Authority during the 1990s and was Chief Executive of the Northern England NHS Workforce Development Confederation in the early 2000s.
Since her retirement, Jackie has been Chair of Northumberland Learning and Skills Council, a non-executive director of the Regional LSC Council and a member of Durham University Council.
She is currently a non-executive director of Azure Charitable Enterprises and Chair of the National Training Awards North-East Judging Panel. Jackie retains her links with the NHS acting as a Quality Assurance Lay Reviewer for medical and dental education.
Jackie has two grown-up sons and lives in Northumberland with her husband.
