Case Study 3: Grainger Street, Newcastle

grainger streetWhen Newcastle City Council announced its Grainger Town regeneration initiative many doubted whether people could be encouraged to return to live in the city centre. When the Grainger Town Project was brought to a close six years later this pessimism was proved wrong, with some city-centre conversions selling at prices over 200,000.

The conversion of Grade I listed buildings in the heart of the city centre set many challenges for Isos' development team, its consultants and its contractor. The completed homes, however, are unique and extremely popular with residents.
