This photo gives an example of how we've used the Tenant Option Budget to help our residents.
The car park of Parkside Court in Chopwell is on an incline, and residents asked us to fit handrails. A number of them have disabilities, and we recognised that handrails would greatly enhance safety, especially in winter.
The rails were erected early in 2011, to a very positive reception. Mr and Mrs Wright (third and fourth from left in the photo) said, "The Tenant Option Budget allowed us to improve life for residents who use the top path at Parkside Court, especially in bad weather."

What happens next?
Our Area Panels will then look at each application in detail and consider important issues, including whether the project will have a lasting effect on residents, if it is practical or if it will have an impact on the wider community.
Every application will be considered.
Before submitting your idea, it would be helpful if you have already discussed the project with your neighbours. You could even ask them to sign the form to say that they support the proposal.
If you have any queries about the tenants' option budget or need help to fill in the form, please contact your housing officer or a member of the community involvement team.
