Mediation is a means of conflict resolution.
A mediation service helps people who are in dispute to reconcile their differences themselves without having a solution imposed on them by a landlord or a court.
Both disputing parties should be approached and asked whether they agree to this process. Once mutual agreement is gained, a referral form is submitted to the agreed mediation company. They then contact the disputing parties and arrange mediation.
The mediators will not update the housing association with details of their meetings.
If successful, an agreement will be signed by both parties and a copy will be sent to the relevant housing officer.
