There are two different types of Pension Credit:
The age from which you can get the Guarantee Credit - the qualifying age - is gradually increasing from 60 to 65 between April 2010 and 2020. To find out the age when you can apply for Pension Credit, please contact the Pension Service, or call us.
Pension Credit guarantees a minimum weekly income of £142.70 if you are single and £217.90 if you have a partner.
Any income that you have which is less than the guaranteed minimum will be topped up by Pension Credit.
If you are aged over 65 and have made some provision towards your retirement, such as savings or a second pension, you may be entitled to an additional amount of Pension Credit called Savings Credit.
